Tree Planting Partnership was launched in 2004 to
enable every member of CPRW to dedicate a tree in
a Coed Cadw Woodland somewhere in Wales. The first
such wood was planted in November 2004 at Coed Tregeib
outside Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire.
Trees can be dedicated for £10
each and in return every subscriber receives a
personalised certificate.
Now we are keen to extend the tree planting to
other areas of Wales. To do this Coed Cadw, CPRW,
Girlguiding Wales and Radio Wales will work with
individuals, schools, youth groups, community
groups, landowners and companies to plant more
woodland. If you have contacts with other local
community groups and know of a suitable area that
could be planted, please contact us.
Our aim is to enable every child
under 16 in the UK to plant a tree. Between now
and 2009 that would be 12 million trees enough
to cover 18,000 football pitches. A community
woodland project is already underway in Porthkerry
woods Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Several other web sites to
accompany this project, including the Tree for
all site, (www.treeforall.org.uk) will help you
organise and run a Community Tree Planting Event.
